隋 以后各地为备荒而设置的粮仓。
《隋书·长孙平传》：“ 平 见天下州县多罹水旱，百姓不给，奏令民间每秋家出粟麦一石已下，贫富差等，储之閭巷，以备凶年，名曰义仓。” 宋 曾巩 《本朝政要策·义仓》：“使岁穰，输其餘；岁凶，受而食之：故义仓之法自此始。 长孙平 修之， 隋 以富足。”《醒世恒言·张廷秀逃生救父》：“官府看不过，开发义仓，賑济百姓。” 王闿运 《储玫躬传》：“譬喻州人，积穀设义仓，以待非常。”
